New YMCA receives $500K donation from Community Bank

PLATTSBURGH | Community Bank, N.A., is supporting the New YMCA in Plattsburgh by gifting a $500,000 donation to the Plattsburgh YMCA's plan to create a state-of-the-art health and wellness facility. The YMCA's renovation plan is moving forward and the generous support of Community Bank is "humbling," according to Justin Ihne, CEO of the Plattsburgh YMCA. "Community Bank has always been a great partner to the Y. This generous donation speaks directly to their commitment to our community and we're very grateful for their support of the New YMCA." Community Bank President and CEO Mark Trynisk said, "Community Bank is extremely proud of our partnership with the Plattsburgh YMCA. As our name suggests, we've always been a community bank that's committed to the people, the quality of life and the sustainability of the communities in which we live and work. We're thrilled to be supporting the Plattsburgh YMCA and all the good work they do for the community as they build out their new home." The New Plattsburgh YMCA on New York Road plans include aquatics, fitness, and child-watch areas, and also provides community-connection opportunities. With meeting rooms, teen spaces, and family-friendly, intergenerational multi-purpose rooms, everyone will find the New YMCA welcoming. Kim Manion, YMCA board chairperson, said, "The YMCA brings so many positives to the Plattsburgh area. Beyond a gym and pool, the Y offers youth enrichment and a safe, inclusive place for the whole community.
