Clinton Co. to award Request for Proposal for nursing home

PLATTSBURGH | The Clinton County Legislature has awarded the Request for Proposal for Sale and Operation of the Clinton County Nursing Home to Personal Healthcare. Clinton County Legislature Chairman Mark Henry said the Nursing Home subcommittee evaluated three requests for proposals and provided a recommendation to the full board, unanimously agreeing to formalize a transaction with Personal Healthcare. Henry said, "The Legislature is pleased to have selected Personal Healthcare with its many years of experience to continue the quality of care to our community." Francis Peryea, Clinton County legislature and chairman of the Human Services Committee, stated, "I am confident that Personal Healthcare will present values that are consistent with the Clinton County Nursing Home regarding quality patient care and services to those in need and to continue being a quality employer for the local community." Personal Healthcare is a community-based healthcare organization focused on providing the highest level of quality care to their residents and striving to enhance their residents' individualized physical, spiritual, and psychosocial well-being. Personal Healthcare is fully owned and managed by founding partners who have more than 50 years of combined nursing home management and leadership experience. They own and operate 21 skilled nursing homes, two assisted living facilities, two licensed adult day care programs, and two outpatient rehabilitation clinics, including one in our local community, the Plattsburgh Rehabilitation and Nursing Center. County Administrator Michael Zurlo said the county will be working diligently with its regulatory attorneys and in conjunction with Personal Healthcare to ensure a smooth transition of licensure through the New York State Department of Health.
