City drug bust nets five arrests

PLATTSBURGH | An ongoing drug investigation has netted five arrests with more pending after authorities seized large quantities of fentanyl, crack cocaine and cash inside a Sandalwood Way residence Oct. 10. The Adirondack Narcotics Unit, comprised of Plattsburgh City Police, New York State Police, Clinton County Sheriff's Office and Homeland Security Investigations, culminated the months-long investigation into local trafficking with the execution of a search warrant Monday. City Police said during the search, police seized 1,398 bags containing fentanyl, 58 grams of fentanyl ready to be packaged for resale, six grams of crack cocaine and $3,765 in U.S. currency. The residents, Gerald Rabideau, 54, and Stephanie Lafountain, 31, were arrested for first-degree criminal nuisance. Rabideau was remanded to Clinton County Jail while Lafountain will appear in City Court for arraignment at a later date. Also located in the residence were Connecticut residents Jordan Phipps, 24; Kanei Teal, 24, and Kemo Teal, 25, who were all arrested on charges of third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance with the intent to sell. Phipps and Kemo Teal were additionally charged with evidence tampering. Their initial arraignment information was not immediately available.
