COVID-19 claims another life

QUEENSBURY | Warren County Health Services reported June 25 that a county resident in their 90s died of COVID-19 two days earlier in an area hospital. This individual had not been vaccinated and had lived at home before becoming ill, county publicist Don Lehman said. "Our deepest condolences are extended to the loved ones of this individual," Lehman wrote on behalf of county officials. This person was the third county resident this month to die of COVID-19, and the 125th since the pandemic began. On June 25, there were nine county residents hospitalized with COVID-19, one of them critically ill; and there were 104 patients afflicted with COVID being treated in the eight Capital Region hospitals. This was a decrease of about 30% from two weeks earlier. New cases of COVID-19 among Warren County residents in the three days ending June 25 numbered 68, about a quarter of them being detected by home tests. As of June 25, nearly 20,000 Warren County residents have been infected with COVID — about 30 percent of the county's population. Many of these people have been enduring long-term effects, according to area medical officials. A limited number of COVID-19 test kits are available at the town halls across Warren County, at Glens Falls City Hall, and at the Warren County Municipal Center.
