Input sought from employers on local housing issues

LAKE GEORGE | The Lake Champlain-Lake George Regional Planning Board (LCLGRPB) invites all employers in Clinton, Franklin, Essex, and Hamilton counties to take a survey about local housing issues. The survey is part of a collaborative regional housing study and strategy that LCLGRPB is leading, along with a mix of stakeholders across the region. Housing has become a prevalent issue in discussions around the quality of life and the potential for economic development in the region in recent years. The study will seek to identify gaps in the local housing market through data-driven analysis and strategize ways to tackle the region's housing challenges through ambitious, but practical solutions. "We are excited to be working with our federal, state, and local partners to address workforce housing needs in our region. Housing is an important piece to our regional economy and the vibrance of our communities. We encourage employers to take the time to complete the survey so that we can use this data to work with our local leaders and help retain workforce in the Adirondacks." said Beth Gilles, executive director of the LCLGRPB. The online survey is open through July 5, and takes about 10 minutes to complete. It can be accessed at www.northcountrynyhousing.com/get-involved. The LCLGRPB is asking all private, non-profit, and public employers in the region to take the survey so it can collect the most accurate data possible, establish employer needs, and help bring in the best partners to conduct this work. LCLGRPB will release a second community-wide survey later this summer. The results of both surveys will help inform the strategies included in the housing study.
