ADK Health Foundation awards healthcare scholarships

SARANAC LAKE | The Adirondack Health Foundation Board of Trustees has announced the 2022 winners of the Foundation's annual healthcare scholarship program. Three students were selected to receive a one-year scholarship in the amount of $3,500. They are Sarah Dann of Wilmington, Jenna LaBar from St. Regis Falls, and London Tyo from Tupper Lake. All three will be studying nursing, with LaBar planning to attend the University at Buffalo, and Dann and Tyo planning to attend North Country Community College. "This scholarship has helped to relieve some of the stress of going back to school while working," said previous scholarship winner and phlebotomist Lauren Peckham. "I can focus on my studies without having to worry about how I can afford it. With this aid from the Foundation, I can complete a degree without the burden of student loans." Each year, the Foundation awards scholarships to exceptional local students embarking on the first step in a healthcare career. Applicants may be high school students beginning college, current college students, or non-traditional students returning to college. The quality of applications is always strong, making the scholarship a highly competitive annual award. Winners agree to work at Adirondack Health for one year following graduation if there is an opening in their field.
