CVAC announces winter Hebert winners

PLATTSBURGH | The Champlain Valley Athletic Conference has announced the John J. Herbert All-Academic Award winners for the winter sports season. Included are: AuSable Valley Shea Durgan has participated in soccer, softball, basketball, and volleyball at AVCS. She has also been the vice president of her class and of SADD as well as vice president of the Skills USA committee at CV-Tec. Additionally, she has been highly involved in her community volunteering for the "Halloween in the Forks" activities and in concessions for sporting events. Ted Bruno has participated on the boys' swim team and baseball team. He is also a student council member, a Key Club member as well as the vice president of the local National Honor Society at AVCS. Beekmantown Hailey A. Williams (Basketball) has also participated in soccer and tennis and is a member of the National Honor Society, high honor roll with distinction, AP and college-level courses, Scholar-Athlete Award winner, Tri-Athlete Award winner, Varsity Club, Peer Connecting, and Model United Nations Rocco Golden (air rifle) has also participated in soccer and is a member of the high honor roll with distinction, AP and college-level courses, Model United Nations, band, all-state honors, and Clarkson University Leadership Award recipient. Lake Placid Darianna Patterson has been a four-year member of the varsity hockey team, being a captain and honorable mention all-star her senior year. She has also been involved with soccer, softball (H.M. all-star), and the National Honor Society. Tanner Foley has been a three-sport player throughout high school in hockey, soccer, and golf. He is also a member of the band, chorus, drama club, and National Honor Society. Moriah Alexis Snyder and Will Rohrer were named the Holmes All-Academic recipients for Moriah, with both being members of their respective varsity basketball teams. Northern Adirondack Abigail Peryea and Dalton Murphy were named the Holmes All-Academic recipients for Northern Adirondack, with both being members of their respective varsity basketball teams. Northeastern Clinton Audrianna Hollister (basketball) is also a member of the National Honor Society, CFES Brilliant Pathways mentor, CVAC Scholar-Athlete, St.Lawrence Augsburg Award, Muggsy Tournament All-Star & MVP Awards. Darren Dubois School (basketball) is also a member of the National Honor Society, CFES Brilliant Pathways mentor, and senior class secretary. Peru Kathryn Bowman (bowling) and Wyatt Premore (basketball) were named the Holmes All-Academic recipients for Peru. Plattsburgh High Rebecah Courson (hockey) is also a member of College for Every Student, Key Club, multi-cultural club, National Honor Society co-officer, peer mentoring Club, varsity club, class secretary, chorus, NYSSMA, soccer, hockey team captain, tennis. Colin Golden (basketball) is also a member of Amnesty International, College for Every Student, Key Club treasurer, Model U.N., multi-cultural club, National Honor Society, peer mentoring club, Spanish club vice-president, band, student association treasurer, football team captain, basketball, baseball team captain. Saranac Lexie Denis (basketball) is also a member of band/jazz band, chorus, drama club, NHS president, student council vice president, Key Club, class president, varsity cross country, and varsity track. Justin Wing (Basketball) is also a member of the National Honor Society, Key Club, yearbook club, and multi-cultural club. Saranac Lake Sydney Dann (hockey) has been a four-year, three-sport athlete, and has also been a class officer, a member of the National Honor Society, women's ensemble, and Key Club. Nate McCarthy (basketball) has been a class officer, National Honor Society Member, Spanish club, youth basketball and baseball coach, student council member, and Community Lunchbox volunteer. Seton Catholic Faline Yang (indoor track) has been a member of cross country (9-12), track and field (9-12), student council (9-12), class president, National Honor Society, and faith ambassador. Ticonderoga Laura Zelinski (basketball) is also a member of the National Honor Society, a multi-sport athlete, class executive board, art club, Key Club, youth sports referee, and held a part-time job during sports seasons. Owen Stonitsch (basketball) is also a member of the National Honor Society, Jazz Band, a multi-sport athlete, team captain, and CVAC baseball all-star.
