Easter roundup: Free Easter activities around the community

PLATTSBURGH | Easter is around the corner and the North Country is getting ready to celebrate. Sun Community News has compiled a list of free Easter activities happening in Clinton County. CHAMPLAIN The 5th Annual Derek Genereux Easter Egg Hunt will be held at VFW Post 1418, 600 St. Johns Rd., Sunday, April 10 at 11 a.m. Children 12 and under are encouraged to participate in this 10,000 eggs, Easter egg hunt. In addition to this free event, two bicycles will be raffled off. Participants are encouraged to bring one nonperishable food item, for a raffle ticket. Additional tickets may be purchased as well. There will also be food available for purchase. There will also be an Easter Egg Scavenger Hunt taking place at Suzie's Party Planning, 127 Elm St., Saturday, April 16. This event will take place for children three and under from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. and children aged four to eight from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. There will be games, crafts, face painting, and snacks available. MOOERS The Mooers Free Library will be hosting an Easter Fun Time Saturday, April 16 from 11 a.m. to noon at 25 School St. There will be storytime, crafts, and more to enjoy. PERU The White Rainbow Regenerative Yoga Farm located at 844 Route 22B will be hosting a Hip Hop Easter Egg Hunt Saturday, April 9 from noon to 4 p.m. This event includes an Easter Egg hunt with over 1,000 eggs, live music, a bouncy house, a petting zoo, and more for the family to enjoy. PLATTSBURGH The City of Plattsburgh will be joining in on the fun with a Downtown Easter Celebration hosted by the city in partnership with The Z Group Real Estate. This event will take place at the Betty Little Arts Park and Trinity Park Saturday, April 16 from noon to 2 p.m. There will be arts and crafts hosted by the Links Art Center and Adirondack Art House, Easter treats and giveaways from JCEO, Mountain Lake PBS, and Excellus Blue Cross/ Blue Shield. Downtown businesses with an Easter Egg in their windows will be handing out Easter treats, and a meet and greet with Easter donkeys will be happening in Trinity Park. The Easter Bunny will also be available for photos. There will be a canned-food drive drop-off during this event. Canned goods can be dropped off at The Z Group. Additionally, the fastest two-minute event in Plattsburgh will be making a comeback. The Foundation at the University of Vermont Health Network- Champlain Valley Physicians Hospital will be hosting its Annual Easter Egg Hunt Saturday, April 16 at 10 a.m. The Easter Egg hunt is open for children 10 and under and will have a separate area for kids three and under. Participants are reminded to arrive early as this event starts promptly at 10 a.m. ROUSES POINT The Village of Rouses Point Stars and Stripes on the Lake Celebration will be hosting the 2nd Annual Easter Egg Hunt Saturday, April 16 from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at Angelo's Pizza and Grill, 44 Champlain St. Among the hidden eggs there will be two "Golden Eggs" each containing a $15 gift card to Angelo's. The Easter Bunny will also be in attendance during this event.
