Adirondack Folk School opens new annex

LAKE GEORGE | The Adirondack Folk School (AFS) has announced the launch of its new annex as well as a record number of classes and workshops offered for 2022. Support from the Moore family has enabled the school to open the Alfred Z. Solomon Lake George Annex, located in the Log Jam Outlets directly behind the Log Jam Restaurant on Route 9 in Lake George. Additional support, from the Alfred Z. Solomon Foundation, has gone into readying that space with equipment needed for the various classes being offered there. ABOUT THE ADIRONDACK FOLK SCHOOL The Adirondack Folk School—the only non-profit organization of its kind in the region—is offering 280 hands-on classes and workshops for anyone interested in learning the crafts and traditions that give the Adirondacks its unique flavor. AFS is based on a Danish folk school teaching model that emphasizes lifelong learning through folk arts. AFS accomplishes this in a non-competitive, supportive environment. Classes and programs represent 20 craft areas, such as basketry, blacksmithing, boat building, fiber arts, photography, rustic furniture, traditional crafts, and woodworking.
