#VaxtoSchool clinics coming to Plattsburgh

PLATTSBURGH | Gov. Kathy Hochul has announced 16 new #VaxtoSchool clinics, two of which are heading to Plattsburgh Saturday, Dec. 11. Both the Ted K. Center and Stafford Middle School drives are open to local students 12-17, but the Stafford site is one of a select few open to children 5 and older. As New York reaches its final week of #VaxtoSchool programming, Gov. Hochul announced the latest series of sites Dec. 9, bringing two of the clinics to the City of Plattsburgh this weekend. "Our #VaxtoSchool program has helped New York students and their families get vaccinated and has been critical to making sure our schools stay open," Gov. Hochul said Thursday afternoon. "We thank the localities and community organizations on the ground who worked with us to administer tens of thousands of vaccine doses to school communities statewide. Parents and guardians: visit a #VaxtoSchool site this week to make sure your child is fully vaccinated against COVID-19." Under the #VaxtoSchool initiative led by Hochul, a total of 120 sites were slated to take place over a 12-week period statewide, but officials surpassed that goal with 235 sites so far. As of Dec. 8, 70 percent of 12-17-year-olds and 20 percent of 5-11-year-olds have received at least one vaccine dose, state officials said. The clinics will be held at the Ted K. Center at 4817 South Catherine St. Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. for area students 12 and older. The Stafford Middle School clinic will be held at the Broad Street school Saturday from 2 p.m. until 7 p.m. and is open to children 5 and older. Both drives are being held in partnership with the Plattsburgh Housing Authority and Plattsburgh City School District.
