Salvation Army's Red Kettle Campaign needs local volunters

TICONDEROGA | The 2021 Salvation Army's Red Kettle Campaign season is gearing up for the holiday season. Each year, the Salvation Army raises funds from Thanksgiving until Christmas Eve to provide for those in need within local communities. Where you see the kettle located is where your donation serves. The money raised in that Red Kettle helps with food, clothing, housing, medical bills, utilities, children's camps, personal items, and more to people that live right here. The Salvation Army has contracted with Walmart of Ticonderoga, as in years past, to collect for the Ticonderoga Service Unit of the Salvation Army. Volunteers are needed for the campaign. Local organizers report that the campaign is only successful "when we have a good complement of volunteers to ring the bell." Volunteers can commit to an hour at a time or get a group together to cover an entire day. The campaign's 2021 goal is to have kettle coverage Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays starting Dec. 2, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. You can view available Ticonderoga-area time slots by visiting https://bit.ly/2ZvRMss or if you prefer, you can call Kettle Coordinator Jodi Gibbs, at 518-597-3492, to select a day and time to ring. Kettle funds are used throughout the year to provide for basic emergency needs.
