LTE: Operation Jumbo Flop

America's worldwide reputation has reached unprecedented lows. Many factors contributed to this perception:An imploding currency whose regulators have engaged Warp Factor 8 on course to irrelevance coupled with a festering culture war and totalitarian advocacy from "public health representatives". These crises are married with a perplexing dichotomy that admits our social welfare programs are collapsing while permitting hundreds of thousands (if not millions) of unvetted individuals who require public assistance to seek refuge in our nation. All this while we allow countless resources we collectively contribute toward "foreign aid" to be squandered/confiscated by our enemies.There's much to criticize regarding our domestic affairs, but what we just witnessed halfway around the world is of highest priority. We are being told this is the greatest airlift in world history, yet these words are meant to mislead a gullible population.On closer examination we see how important strategy, tactics and logistics are when dealing with a military operation. This administration actively ignored/silenced those who believed the Taliban likely to overwhelm Afghan forces. President Trump proved he was ready to run targeted airstrikes when met with resistance after "his deal" was struck. This same deal the current administration felt obligated to honor (a Trump policy they didn't immediately abolish; coincidence?).It cannot be ignored how this administration abandoned our most geopolitically advantageous airbase worldwide before fully evacuating American citizens who felt it necessary to leave Afghanistan prior to American troop withdrawal. This forced the surge of Kabul, resulting in disastrous security policies that led to unnecessary loss of American troops. We hear news dozens of thousands of "refugees" are unvetted, creating national security issues worldwide, as many nations have contributed to this mass exodus.This crisis was completely avoidable; if only modern America carried itself with an ounce of dignity. —Eric Geisel, Putnam Station, NY
