Ausable Forks gears up for community celebration

AUSABLE FORKS | The annual Labor Day weekend Community Celebration in Ausable Forks will return in 2021 with an afternoon of fun for all ages. The Sunday, Sept. 5 celebration starts with a parade at 1 p.m.-leading from Route 9N by Zaumetzer Funeral Home to Town of Black Brook's River Park. Festivities follow at the park until 8 p.m., bringing games, food trucks, face painting, craft vendors, live music and more before fireworks culminate the evening. All proceeds from the highly anticipated annual event will be donated to Holy Name Church, local fundraising events and the youth commission. Live music and entertainment kicked off at 2:30 p.m. with Pop and Tally followed by Pipsqueak's Party Time, Wyatt Hackett Illusionist and Rock-N-Lil later in the day as the Dogfather Food Cart, Tammy's Lunch Box, Mr. Ding-A-Ling and Pourman's Tap House join the fun with tasty food and beverage treats. Santore's World Famous Fireworks show will be held at dusk in the area of the Black Brook Town Square. As of Aug. 29, organizers were busy planning the cherished annual event and were still in need of empty glass beverage bottles for the dime pitch game, spooled ribbon for balloons and baked goods for the pie wheel game. Baked goods can be dropped off at the Town of Blackbrook offices on Friday, Sept. 3 between 7:30 a.m. and 4 p.m. or Saturday, Sept. 4 from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. Parade registration remains open. Anyone interested can join by calling 518-647-5412 ext. 0 or by showing up that day during parade setup. A rain date has been set for Sept. 6.
