UPDATE: Driver of fatal Mooers accident identified

MOOERS | A fatal accident that claimed the life of a local father remains under investigation. New York State Police said the accident happened May 15 when a pickup truck and tractor-trailer collided on Route 11. Authorities said the accident happened between Green Valley Road and Cannon Corners Road at about 7:15 a.m. Based on the early investigation, State Police said May 17, it appeared the pickup truck was traveling eastbound in the westbound lane of Route 11 when it struck the oncoming tractor-trailer and caught fire. The driver of the pickup truck, identified May 20 as Ronald B. Dupee Sr., 40, of Mooers, was killed. As word of his death spread later that day, loved ones recalled the close connection he had with his kids, family and friends. The driver of the tractor-trailer, Bernard A. Guindon, 64, of Parish suffered minor injuries and was transported to the University of Vermont Health Network-CVPH hospital, where he was treated and released. No charges have been filed. The accident remained under investigation as of midday Monday and no further details were immediately available.
