ADK Regional Blood Center hosts upcoming drives

PLATTSBURGH | Hoping to help boost local supplies, the Adirondack Regional Blood Center is hosting several blood drives across Clinton and Essex counties this month. Starting on Sept. 14, donors will be registered electronically and should have their donor card or another form of identification with them at local drives. A number of safety measures have been put into place to help protect the public during donation, including COVID-19 screenings, masks, and socially distanced cots. Blood collected by the Regional Blood Center stays in the North Country, helping hundreds of people at hospitals in Elizabethtown, Plattsburgh, Malone, Massena, Saranac Lake, and Glens Falls. To be eligible to donate blood, a person must be in good health and at least 17 years old. The minimum weight requirement is 110 lbs. All donors must pass a physical and health history exam conducted at the drive prior to donation. A valid ID is required.
