Jonnie Dale Batterson

MINEVILLE — Jonnie Dale Batterson, 63, of Mineville, New York died peacefully at his home June 7, 2016 surrounded by his family. Jonnie was born December 1, 1952 in Akron, Colorado to Leonard (Bud) and Sharon (Cruthers) Batterson. He later moved to Denver, Colorado with his mother and sister, Jorje following the death of his father. Jonnie married Theresa (Terry) Kordziel in September 1977 in Denver. Together they had two children, Josh and Heather. They later moved their family back to Mineville, NY in 1995. Jonnie enjoyed working on his family's genealogy on the computer, listening to music and working in his garage. Jonnie was predeceased by his father Leonard (Bud) Batterson, mother Sharon (Cruthers) Batterson, sister Jorje Abraham and daughter Heather-Jo Batterson Welch. Jonnie is survived by his wife Theresa (Terry) Kordziel Batterson, son Josh Batterson and wife Nicole, his four grandchildren, Krystopher, Kolton, Kyliegh Batterson and Hailey Welch who was like a daughter to him, sister Lee Coletti of Grand Junction, Colorado, two nephews Billy Jo Walton and Roger Bundy, brother and sister in laws, Peter (Chris) Kordziel of Swedsboro, NJ, Stephen (Lorrie) Korziel of Remsen, NY, Pauline (David) Meyers of Schenectady, NY, Daniel (Jen) Kordziel of Rotterdam, NY, Elizabeth (Gary) Haseltine of South Glens Falls, Jane (Van) Morrison of Queensbury, Ann Parson of North Pole, Alaska, Mary (Tom) Ida of Mineville, NY and many nieces, nephews and great nieces and great nephews. Jonnie will be missed by many family and friends. Per Jonnie's request there will be no calling hours or services. A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, June 18th from 1-4 pm at the Mineville-Witherbee Fire Station in Mineville, NY. Please dress casual.
