Festival to bring European holiday flavor to Lake George

LAKE GEORGE | The inaugural "Adirondack Christkindlmarkt," a European-style Christmas market with Adirondack flair, will run from Dec. 7-9 at Charles R. Wood Park on Westbrook Road in Lake George. Members of the Lake George Regional Chamber of Commerce and Convention & Visitors Bureau (CVB) and the Adirondack Folk School organized the event which will include shopping, traditional food and beverages from the Lake George Steamboat Company, live entertainment, horse-drawn carriage rides and family-friendly activities. "I'm thrilled that we have over 30 artisans and over a dozen live musical acts for our inaugural event. I'm proud that the Adirondack Folk School can contribute to the year-round economy," said Scott Hayden, executive director of the Adirondack Folk School. This event is free to attend and will go on rain or shine, as the vendors will be under a heated tent. Free parking is available at the Million Dollar Beach parking lot and around the Village of Lake George. For those looking to stay the weekend, hotels offering special festival rates can be found on the Lake George Chamber of Commerce website at lakegeorgechamber.com/events/adirondack-christkindlmarkt. The schedule of events is as follows: Friday, Dec. 7, 3-8 p.m. 3 p.m. — The festival opens. Entertainment 5:15 p.m. — TnT Acoustic Duo 6:15 p.m. — Frank Palangi MC: J.P. Henderson Children's activities 4 p.m., 5 p.m. and 6 p.m. — Letters to Santa with Mrs. Claus. 7 p.m. — "Night Before Christmas" reading with Mrs. Claus. Saturday, Dec. 8, 11 a.m. - 7 p.m. 11 a.m. — Festival opens. Horse drawn carriage rides during the day by Vance Acres. Entertainment 11:15 a.m. — Jim Robinson 12:15 p.m. — Enzian Bavarian Dancers 1:15 p.m. — Erin Powers 2:15 p.m. — Mikki Bakken 3:15 p.m. — Enzian Bavarian Dancers 4:15 p.m. — Tim Ortiz 5:15 p.m. — PJ Duo 6:15 p.m. — Enzian Bavarian Dancers MC: J.P.
