SARANAC LAKE | St. Joseph's Addiction Treatment & Recovery Centers' Veterans Residential Program in Saranac Lake has a new name: St. Joseph's Recovery Campus – Saranac Lake. This change broadens access to residential addiction treatment for men across New York State while maintaining focused, dedicated support for veterans through a dedicated Veterans Track. Since its opening in 2014, the program has served hundreds of men with dedication and care. This evolution continues that same compassionate, evidence-based care, now reaching more men in need of residential treatment while preserving the veteran-focused programming that has long defined the Saranac Lake campus. As an OASAS Part 820 residential program, St. Joseph's Recovery Campus – Saranac Lake provides structured, community-based residential care that combines clinical treatment with life-skills development and connection to community resources, helping men stabilize in recovery and prepare for independent living. "Veterans have been at the heart of this program since day one—that isn't changing," said James Button, President and CEO of the Daxia Integrated Health Network. "What is changing is our ability to help more men who need treatment. We are keeping our commitment to veterans while opening the door to others who deserve the same chance at recovery." St. Joseph's is a proud member of the Daxia Integrated Health Network, which advances whole-person care through a comprehensive continuum of behavioral health, addiction treatment, intellectual and developmental disability services, housing and community-based supports. VETERANS TRACK As part of the transition, St. Joseph's has established a Veterans Track that combines core treatment services with veteran-specific programming and peer support. The track includes specialized group therapy, connections to community resources such as Homeward Bound Adirondacks and assistance accessing Veterans Affairs benefits and services. Its curriculum addresses the unique challenges veterans may face in recovery, including service-related trauma, reintegration into civilian life, relationship building, emotional regulation, life-skills development and restoring a sense of purpose. This specialized programming helps veterans build resilience, strengthen recovery skills and prepare for successful independent living and community engagement. "Expanding residential treatment access means more men in New York State can get the care they need close to home," said Jennifer Rowledge-DiTullio, Chief Operating Officer of the Daxia Integrated Health Network. "This growth strengthens our region's continuum of care and reflects our Network's ongoing investment in the communities we serve."
