Cashman, Micro Bird and North Country Chamber co-host school supplies drive

PLATTSBURGH | Assemblyman Michael S. Cashman (D-Plattsburgh) will host a school supplies drive on Friday, Aug. 21, between 8 a.m. and 2 p.m. in partnership with Micro Bird and the North Country Chamber of Commerce. All donations will go toward JCEO's annual school supplies distribution. "I am thrilled to be able to put on this great event to support North Country students in their educational journey," Cashman said. "JCEO puts on incredible programs for our local youth, and their school supply distributions provide essentials to hundreds of students across the tri-county region. I am grateful for the great support from Micro Bird. Micro Bird makes school buses right here in Plattsburgh, so it is only appropriate that they came to stuff a bus with school supplies for local schools. I thank these teams for their support and look forward to gathering donations throughout the day." A Micro Bird bus will be parked outside of the Assemblyman's office, located at 202 US Oval in Plattsburgh, to collect donations between 8 a.m. and 2 p.m. Donations will later be delivered to JCEO for distribution throughout the region. North Country Chamber of Commerce President Garry Douglas said the chamber looked forward to the collaboration and helping to ensure support for local students, saying "Maximizing readiness for school is an early part of a stronger community and lifetime success."
