ROOST launches regional event calendar

LAKE PLACID | The Regional Office of Sustainable Tourism (ROOST) has developed a region-wide event calendar to assist businesses and organizations throughout the region with planning and scheduling initiatives. The calendar serves as a centralized resource where all area events can be viewed in one place. It also allows users to add upcoming events, helping to keep partners informed and encourage coordination across the region. The calendar, available at ROOSTadk.com/resources/event-promotion, is a resource that event organizers and communities have been requesting for some time. "We have had many conversations with our local partners, including communities, local event planners, area businesses, and regional organizations about the need for one 'master calendar' that includes all of the region's events in one location," said ROOST COO Mary Jane Lawrence. The calendar features both large and small events, including locations, dates, and times. As annual and seasonal events are scheduled, organizers can reference the calendar to inform planning decisions and improve coordination. It is also expected to be a valuable resource for businesses that base staffing decisions on anticipated visitor levels, such as restaurants and retailers. "It's important that those planning area events can avoid potential conflicts while also being aware of nearby events that may complement one another based on location or timing," continued Lawrence.
