Essex Co. participates in 2026 Summer Food Service Program

ELIZABETHTOWN | Essex County has announced its participation in the 2026 Summer Food Service Program, which will provide free meals to all children 18 years old and younger at designated sites throughout the county. According to the county's official notice, "Meals will be provided to all children 18 years and under without charge." The program is funded by the U.S. Department of Agriculture and is designed to ensure that children have access to nutritious meals during the summer months when school is not in session. In its announcement, the county emphasized that the USDA prohibits discrimination in all of its programs and activities. The notice states that "institutions participating in or administering USDA programs are prohibited from discriminating based on race, color, national origin, religion, sex, disability, age, marital status, family/parental status, income derived from a public assistance program, political beliefs, or reprisal or retaliation for prior civil rights activity." Individuals with disabilities who require alternative communication formats, such as Braille, large print, audiotape or American Sign Language, may contact their local administering agency or reach USDA through the Telecommunications Relay Service at 711. Program information may also be available in languages other than English. To file a program discrimination complaint, individuals may complete the USDA Program Discrimination Complaint Form (AD‑3027) or submit a written letter containing the required information. Donnelly Beach in Minerva, located at 68 Beach Road, will serve lunch from July 8 to Aug. 14 between 11:30 a.m. and 12:15 p.m. Mountain View Campus in Elizabethtown, at 7530 Court Street, will offer breakfast and lunch from July 6 to Aug. 7, with breakfast served from 8 to 8:45 a.m. and lunch from 11:45 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Noblewood in the Town of Willsboro, on Lake Shore Road, will serve breakfast and lunch from July 6 to Aug. 6, with breakfast available from 8 to 8:30 a.m. and lunch from noon to 1 p.m. Ticonderoga Elementary School, located at 116 Alexandria Avenue, will serve breakfast and lunch from July 6 to Aug. 7, with breakfast available from 7:30 to 8:15 a.m. and lunch from 11:30 a.m. to 12:15 p.m.
