Adirondack Health Foundation receives $15K grant from IRONMAN Foundation

SARANAC LAKE | The Adirondack Health Foundation has received a $15,000 grant from The IRONMAN Foundation to participate in the 2026 Swim Ready Powered by The IRONMAN Foundation program, an initiative designed to promote swim safety, confidence, and water readiness among children in IRONMAN race communities. The Swim Ready program focuses on creating safer, more confident swimmers while fostering a lifelong love of sport. The program provides essential resources, support, and education to promote safer aquatic activities for children. As part of the 2026 program, Lake Placid is one of several selected IRONMAN communities across the country. "Helping children feel safe and confident in the water is an important investment in lifelong health and wellness," said Traci Marie Wagner, MS, CMFD, director of Medical Fitness, Cardiac Rehabilitation & Fit for Life at Adirondack Health. "In a community surrounded by lakes, rivers, and outdoor recreation, swim safety is essential. We're excited to be part of a program that helps us give local youth the skills, confidence, and support they need to enjoy the water safely." Through this funding, Adirondack Health will support swim safety education and instruction for local youth, helping children build skills that can keep them safer in and around the water. The program is part of The IRONMAN Foundation's broader commitment to creating positive change in race communities through grant funding, volunteerism, and service through sport. "This grant is a wonderful example of how philanthropy can support practical, meaningful programs that improve lives right here in our community," said Emily Moulton, CFRE, annual giving coordinator at Adirondack Health Foundation. "We are grateful to The IRONMAN Foundation for recognizing the importance of youth swim safety and for investing in a program that will help local children build confidence, stay active, and be safer around water."
