L.G. boys remain 4th in Adk. League

LAKE GEORGE | The Lake George baseball team's long-shot quest to become Adirondack League Champions was derailed May 12 in a league semifinal loss to No. 1-ranked Hartford, then undefeated in the league; and then the Lakers dropped a second league playoff game May 15 to Granville that determined third place. In the league championship game held May 15 on Glens Falls' East Field, No. 2-seeded Salem-Cambridge upset Hartford 5-2, a battle powered by Stephen Yakubec's wily pitching, which allowed only one hit. Emerging from the playoffs, Lake George held onto their fourth place ranking in the league. GRANVILLE 6, LAKE GEORGE 1 Lake George batters had a tough time with Granville pitcher Kole Plude, who struck out 14 batters and allowed only four hits over six innings, while the Golden Horde players tallied 11 hits in the May 15 Adirondack League consolation game. Producing hits for the Lakers were Wyatt Meyer, Cody LeBarron, Quinn McCabe, and Brayden Collier-Fisher, according to the Lakers' game statistics. McCabe was credited with the RBI that scored his team's sole run. Collier-Fisher was the starting pitcher, and he was relieved after 4 innings by Aidan Cardinale. HARTFORD 15, LAKE GEORGE 5: Hartford's powerful offense overwhelmed Lake George as the Tanagers won their 11th straight 2026 league game. Hartford started out the scoring with two runs in the first inning and added five more by the third stanza, and Lake George responded with a four-run fourth inning. However, Hartford had an eight-run scoring spree in the bottom of the sixth to end the game. Hartford tallied 12 hits while the Lakers produced six. Leading Lake George was McCabe with two hits and one RBI, and LeBarron with a double, two RBIs and a walk. Meyer tallied one hit, an RBI, a run, and three walks. Luke Holderman had one hit, an RBI and a run, and walked once, while Landon Holderman had one hit, one run, and walked once. Luke Holderman pitched two and one-third innings for the Lakers, striking our two batters and walking one. Collier-Fisher followed, striking out one batter and walking none. Aidan Cardinale also relieved for the Lakers. Concurrently, Salem-Cambridge defeated Granville 5-4 on May 12 in a walk-off win and advanced to the Adirondack League title game.
