Adk. League baseball seedings mostly set

WHITEHALL | The seedings for Adirondack League baseball teams have been substantially determined but as of May 10, two teams with similar regular-season records will be competing before a final lineup is determined. As of May 9, the seeds one through four are set, and seeds 7 through 11 have also been determined, according to league representative Boyd Hunt, coach of the Whitehall baseball team. The fifth and sixth positions in the league are awaiting the results of a game between North Warren and Hadley-Luzerne, to be played at 4:30 p.m. Monday May 11 on North Warren's field in Chestertown. The league is divided into Gold, Silver and Bronze divisions, representing teams seeded No. 1 through No. 4, No. 5 through No. 8, and No. 9 through No.11 respectively. In the Gold and Silver brackets, the highest- and lowest-seeded teams will play their respective semifinal games on Wednesday, May 13, and the two middle-seeded teams will play in a parallel semifinal the same day. Most of the games will be held at the higher-seeded school. Check with school calendars to confirm. Hartford is the No. 1 seed, followed by Salem-Cambridge, Granville and Lake George, which is seeded fourth. No. 7 in the league is Whitehall, followed by Fort Ann, Corinth, Whitehall, and Warrensburg. Lake George is to play Hartford Wednesday May 13 on the Tanagers' field in one Gold division semifinal game and Granville is to play Salem-Cambridge in the other semifinal, scheduled for the same day. The winner of each of these games advances to the Adirondack League Championship game, to be held at 7 p.m. Friday May 15 on Glens Falls' East Field, and the consolation game is to occur at 4 p.m. May 15 in the same ballpark. If North Warren wins on May 11, they will be playing Fort Ann at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 13 in a Silver Division semifinal, likely on the Cardinals' field. If they win this matchup, they will advance to the Silver division title game, competing against the winner of the game between the No. 6 and No. 7 seeded teams. In the Bronze bracket, the teams ranked No. 9, No. 10 and No. 11 will play two round-robin games each to determine the Bronze divisional title winner. Warrensburg, ranked no. 11, is scheduled to play Corinth, seeded No. 9, and play No. 10 Argyle on dates yet to be determined, according to Warrensburg Athletic Director Scott Smith. All games are weather-dependent.
