Adk. League softball seedings set

WARRENSBURG | With regular-season softball concluding, seedings have been determined for the 12 teams in the Adirondack League. Argyle and Fort Ann have been named the Adirondack League's two top seeds. A late-season showdown between these two powerhouse teams occurred May 8, and Argyle won 3-1 and took the No. 1 seed. The Scots are headed into the postseason 11-0 in the league and 12-1 overall and the Cardinals slipped to 10-1 in the league, taking the No. 2 seed. They are 14-2 overall for 2026. For post-season competition, the league is split into Gold, Silver, and Bronze divisions based on seedings; each division contains four teams, according to league representative Teresa Colvin, varsity softball coach for Warrensburg Central. The teams in the Gold bracket will be competing for the Adirondack League Championship. Following Argyle and Fort Ann in the Gold division are Granville, seeded third, and Whitehall, seeded fourth. Argyle will be playing Whitehall in one championship semifinal scheduled for Wednesday, May 13 on Argyle's field, and Fort Ann and Granville will be playing in the other semifinal the same day on Fort Ann's field. The championship game between the winners of these two games is set for Friday, May 15 at Moreau Recreational Park in Fort Edward, where Gold division consolation games will also be held. Seeded fifth through eighth — and in the Silver division — are Lake George, followed by Salem, Fort Edward, and Warrensburg, in that order. Lake George will be playing Warrensburg in one of the Silver semifinals set for Wednesday May 13 on the Lakers' field, and Salem and Fort Edward will be competing in the other semifinal on Salem's field. The two winners are to compete on Friday, May 15 for the Silver division title. Teams in the Bronze Division, seeded ninth through 12th, are Corinth, Hartford, Hadley-Luzerne, and North Warren, although the 11th and 12th positions will be determined in a game between the Eagles and Cougars on Tuesday afternoon, May 12 on North Warren's field. Corinth is to play the loser of this game on their home field Wednesday, May 13 for a Bronze semifinal, and the winner will play Hartford the same day in a parallel semifinal — and the winners will play for the Bronze division title on Friday, May 15. The Silver and Bronze teams will play their divisional semifinals, finals, and consolation competitions at the higher-seeded school. All game dates are weather-dependent.
