Granny's Attic Boutique Sale returns this May

PERU | The community cherished 16th Granny's Attic Unique Boutique Sale returns Saturday, May 16. The sale continues Sunday, May 17 with items half-price, then a special 'clearance' sale the following Saturday, May 23. Sponsored by the Peru Community Church, the community event is held in the Church's Fellowship Center main hall at 13 Elm St. (corner of Rts. 22B, 22, and Elm). Doors open promptly at 9 a.m. Saturday, May 16 and continue until 4 p.m. Baked goods are also offered until sold out. Following the 9 a.m. worship service Sunday, the sale is open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., with most items half-price. Starting May 23, all remaining items are priced "by the bag" from 9 a.m. to noon, or free or pay-what-you-want from 12 – 2 p.m. Volunteers graciously appreciate community donations but can only accept smaller items that can be carried easily by one or two people, and are clean, good condition, and in working order. Clothing, TVs, computers or peripherals, or large bulky items are not accepted. Donations are accepted daily at specific times between May 2 and until 3 p.m. on May 12. Specific times are noted on the church website, Facebook page and flyers posted announcing the sale and at the Fellowship Center. Organizers said the fun and excitement of every Granny's Attic sale has been the community that comes together to greet old friends and meet new ones, while admiring the variety of donated items. The sale offers a wide array of treasures for everyone, including books, toys, kitchenware, dishes and glassware, holiday decor, games and puzzles, table linen, blankets, small appliances and furniture, jewelry, crafts supplies and even original art. Proceeds from the sale support Peru Community Church programs and operations, with a specific portion of the proceeds dedicated to worthwhile missions, locally and beyond. Each week, the Church also hosts a variety of community non-profit programs - Girl Scouts, 4H, RSVP Exercise Groups, AA, and more, at no charge to the group or individuals.
