Hagadorn, Breyette lead Beekmantown past Saranac

SARANAC | Jillian Hagadorn's fourth-quarter touchdown catch lifted Beekmantown to an 18-13 win over Saranac in Section VII flag football. The score came on a 1-yard pass from Emma Breyette and broke a 13-12 Saranac lead, and Beekmantown's defense held the rest of the way to secure the win on April 13. Saranac (0-1) led 6-0 after the first quarter on a touchdown pass from Isabelle Bergevin to Hannah Forgette. Beekmantown (1-1) answered with 12 points in the second quarter to take a 12-6 advantage at the break. Breyette scored on a 1-yard run and later threw a 5-yard touchdown pass to Natalie Stone. Saranac regained the lead in the third quarter when Bergevin scored on a 1-yard run. She then passed to Forgette for the go-ahead extra point, putting Saranac in front at 13-12. Breyette finished 14-of-28 passing for 134 yards and two touchdowns. She also rushed 11 times for 5 yards and a touchdown. Bergevin went 21-of-31 passing for 148 yards and a touchdown, and added six carries for 16 yards and a rushing touchdown. Hagadorn finished with four catches for 41 yards and a touchdown for Beekmantown. Reese Peryer had three catches for 25 yards. Stone had two catches for 17 yards and a score. For Saranac, Lily Brown had eight catches for 43 yards. Forgette had five catches for 41 yards and a touchdown. Elise Hathaway had four catches for 30 yards. Beekmantown recorded four interceptions, with Hagadorn, Sophia Kenyon, Iasia Mosley and Adalyn Svendsen each intercepting a pass. Hagadorn also led Beekmantown with a game-high 14 flag pulls. Kenyon had five, and Stone and Svendsen had four each. For Saranac, Bergevin had seven flag pulls. Brown had five. Hathaway had four, including two sacks.
