Pendragon Theatre launches Founder's Month, final fundraiser for transition to new home

SARANAC LAKE | Pendragon Theatre has announced the upcoming launch of Founder's Month on April 2, marking a major step toward opening its new downtown home and unveiling its inaugural season, which will bring the theatre fully to life beginning June 24. With construction nearly complete and final occupancy approval pending, Pendragon is entering a critical transition from building to full operation as the Adirondacks' only year-round professional theatre. "We're at a turning point," said Melinda Little, Pendragon Theater Board Chair. "Founder's Month is about celebrating the connection between the past and the present. It is also an opportunity to give generously to the last phase of the campaign and support the performances, artists, and audiences that will fill this space starting in June." FOUNDER'S MONTH: THE FINAL STEP BEFORE OPENING Founder's Month reflects a shift from construction to activation. Throughout April, Pendragon will: Launch a series of donor challenges to help close remaining gaps Introduce new sponsorship and naming opportunities Complete final interior and operational preparations Expand volunteer and community participation Community engagement through tours, volunteer sign-ups, and preview events The launch of a Dragon-Naming initiative, tied to the theatre's signature installation Key moments include: April 2 - Founder's Month begins April 6 - 8:45 a.m. tour April 25 - Public open house and preview day SUMMER 2026 SEASON: THE STAGE COMES ALIVE Pendragon's inaugural season in the new theatre will open June 24 with Noises Off by Michael Frayn, and continue with a full slate of productions: Noises Off - June 24-July 11 Beetlejuice Jr. (Camp Pendragon Youth Production) - July 22–25 Violet - Aug. 5-14 Lean-To (new play) - Sept. 2–5 Summer 2026 tickets are on sale: https://www.pendragontheatre.org/season2026. Additional productions later in the year will include Julius Caesar (November) and A Christmas Carol (December), reflecting Pendragon's return to full year-round programming.
