Vinny Sparacino

PLATTSBURGH | Vinny Sparacino, 70, of Plattsburgh, N.Y., passed away peacefully on March 26, 2026, at McClure Miller Respite House in Colchester, Vt. Vinny was born on Feb. 26, 1956, in Watertown, N.Y., to Angie and Vince Sparacino. He was raised in Watertown and graduated from Watertown High in 1974. For many years, he was the owner of Sparacino companies (wholesale beer distributor) in Watertown and the Alpine Air Motel in Lake Placid. Outside of running a business, Vinny could be found devoting his free time volunteering for the Lion's Club and St. Agnes Church, both of which he was a member of for many years. Vinny had a love for downhill skiing, which brought him to Lake Placid and the Adirondack region in 1992. He would go on to share this with his son, Vince, his fiancée, Kathy, as well as many other friends and family members over the years. In addition to skiing, Vinny later in life developed a passion for long-distance running, competing in many Lake Placid half-marathons. He also enjoyed hiking and catching some live music, and could be seen frequenting the Tuesday Songs on Mirror Lake concert series. He is predeceased by his parents, Vince and Angie. He is survived by his son, Vince (girlfriend Donna); his fiancée, Kathy Tufo; his sister, Mary (David) Gebo; his brother, Ben (Margie); ex-wife, Louise Sparacino; Kathy's daughter, Suzanna (Todd) and their son, Jonathan; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Per Vinny's wishes, he is to be cremated, with no formal services. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
