North Country reaffirms Quebec partnerships and friendship

PLATTSBURGH | It was another impressive turnout and close collaboration between North Country and Canadian leaders and business advocates at the 2026 Quebec-New York Transportation Rendezvous and B2B in Plattsburgh March 10. A centerpiece of the NAmTrans Quebec-New York Rendezvous was the signing and release of an 'Affirmation of Friendship and Partnership between Quebec and New York's North Country Region'. Initiated by the Quebec Government, the document includes eleven clauses highlighting the special connections between the North Country and Quebec and was signed by N.Y.S. Assemblyman Michael Cashman as Chair of the Assembly Task Force on New York-Canada Relations; Quebec Delegate General David Brulotte; and Garry Douglas, President of the North Country Chamber of Commerce. The document concludes that the signatories "in this special time, do hereby reaffirm our enduring friendship and commit to strengthening cooperation in economic development, environmental leadership, innovation, and cultural exchange" and ask "that this Affirmation be recognized as a testament to the unity, respect and collaboration that define the relationship between Quebec and New York's North Country — today and for generations to come." The North Country Chamber of Commerce said, "The depth and breadth of economic and social connectivity between the North Country and Quebec is unique among all U.S.-Canada regions. We symbolize the very special bonds that unite us across the border at a time when highlighting our special relationship has never been more important." The Quebec-New York Transportation Rendezvous was a day-long in-person collaboration that brought manufacturers and companies in the ground transportation and aerospace industries to meet and network with potential customers, suppliers, and resources. The day was filled with informational sessions, panels, keynote speakers and presentations and attendees had access to a B2B platform used to request meetings to find new customers, suppliers, or assistance. A post-event reception was later held at the Institute for Advanced Manufacturing, where attendees gathered for an afternoon of networking and a showcase of regional offerings and opportunities. The success 2026 Quebec-New York Transportation Rendezvous was supported by North Country Chamber of Commerce, Québec Government Office in New York, FuzeHub, Aéro Montréal, Propulsion Québec, Consulate General of Canada in New York, Fédération des chambres de commerce du Québec (FCCQ), Empire State Development, K Tooling, Institute for Advanced Manufacturing at Clinton Community College, A.
