Lake Champlain Botanical Garden secures $5K grant

WESTPORT | The Lake Champlain Botanical Garden (LCBG) was recently awarded a $5,000 Champlain Valley National Heritage Partnership Conservation and Community Grant through the Lake Champlain Basin Program. The grant will facilitate a high-level strategic workshop led by distinguished botanical garden professional Bob Brackman. This session is designed to formalize the LCBG Vision, which will subsequently be featured in a new educational outreach brochure and the LCBG website. This publication will serve as an important tool for engaging the larger Champlain Basin community and articulating the garden's role in regional conservation and economic development. The LCBG aims to establish a world-class, accessible public space dedicated to preserving native Adirondack flora and implementing innovative water-quality technologies. Bringing in an expert of Brackman's caliber, noted for his leadership at several premier national gardens, marks a significant milestone in the project's development. "Securing this support from the Lake Champlain Basin Program allows us to bridge the gap between a grand idea and a concrete reality," said Susan Romanoff, founding board member of the LCBG. "By partnering with a national leader like Bob Brackman, we are ensuring that our vision for a sustainable, world-class sanctuary is built on a foundation of professional excellence and deep respect for the Adirondack landscape."
