Egloff sets program mark as Bolton downs Moriah

PORT HENRY | Bolton's Jadynn Egloff added another milestone to her career, breaking the program's all-time scoring record and leading the Eagles to a 48-42 non-conference girls basketball win over Moriah. Egloff scored 18 points to push her career total to 1,388, passing Katelyn Van Auken's previous program mark of 1,381. She finished with four 3-pointers as Bolton built a big early lead and then held off a late push from previously unbeaten Moriah. Bolton jumped out to a 22-7 advantage after one quarter before Moriah steadied itself and trimmed the margin to 32-31 late in the third. The Eagles answered with a closing 11-11 fourth quarter to keep control down the stretch. Maille Kelley played a key role late, finishing with 16 points and sinking six shots from the free-throw line to help Bolton close out the victory. Ella Hens added 12 points, including three 3-pointers, and Hannah Daken chipped in two. Bolton head coach Luke Schweickert credited Egloff's leadership and Kelley's late play in securing the win. "(Egloff) has been both a tremendous player and leader for the Eagles and is a huge part of the team's 9-1 overall record and 6-0 league record," Schweickert said. "Senior Maille Kelley buoyed a strong fourth quarter to gain the victory." Moriah was led by Lexi Cheney with 15 points, while Emma Harrington added nine and Emmy Nephew scored eight on two 3-pointers. Maggie Speshock finished with seven points, and Lexi Mascarenas hit a 3-pointer for three.
