Highlights from Christmas in Schroon Lake

SCHROON | On Friday and Saturday, Dec. 12 and 13, the 40th annual Christmas in Schroon Lake Celebration returned to the charming small town, and the Schroon Lake Chamber of Commerce once again pulled out all the holiday stops to bring high-quality free family-friendly entertainment to the community. From the Festival of Trees to the Polar Plunge, the Chamber's Basket Raffle to the Parade of Lights, the horse and wagon rides to the Seagle Festival Singers, Main Street was transformed into a Hallmark movie as the magic of the season lingered in every shop and doorway. Holiday Decorating Contest winners were the Schroon Lake Department Store (first place) and Rowe's Cabins (second place) in the "Best Business" category, and 64 Cedar Hill Drive (first place) and 1134 US Route 9 (second place) in the "Best Home" category. Ornament Hunt winners were the Keppler Family (first place) and the Craig Family (second place) in the "10 and Under" category, with honorable mention going to the Konazewski Family. In the "11 and Over" category, Teagan, Harper and Hope took first place, the Yoder Family took second, and the Sobek Family earned an honorable mention.
