Lake George, Bolton-Wbg. prominent in girls soccer All-Star awards

WARREN COUNTY | Adirondack League Girls Soccer All-Stars have been announced, and representing Warren County schools on the list are eight athletes from Lake George High School and four from the merged Bolton-Warrensburg team. Lake George sophomore Addison Reinhold was awarded Goaltender of the Year for the league — her second consecutive year for the honor — and junior Olivia Winchell of Fort Ann in Washington County was named Player of the Year. With Reinhold guarding the net, the Lakers won the league championship and compiled a perfect league record — Reinhold did not allow opponents any goals — and her team accrued a 17-3 overall record with 13 shutouts. Winchell scored 20 goals this year for her team, which advanced to the state Class D Final Four, and she has broken a school record for career assists. Lake George athletes awarded All-Star status in addition to Reinhold are seniors Mykah Collier-Fisher, Bailee Dineen, Lilly Montville, and Morgan Stanco; junior Maria O'Connor; and sophomores Sophia Stark and Clara Palladino. Athletes on the Bolton-Warrensburg team earning All-Star status are seniors Maille Kelley, Caitlin O'Donnell, and Halley LaBrecque; and freshman Olivia Bennett. Lake George soccer coach Steve Kohls said Reinhold "has good hands and footwork and is very smart — she's got good instincts for when she should come out from the net to get to the ball, and when not to." Kohls also offered his thoughts about his team's seven other All-Stars: • Collier-Fisher, a forward: "A five-year varsity player, Mykah injured her ankle and was sidelined for a month, but she really pushed herself in the playoffs, scoring in big games, and was a constant threat to score when she got the ball," he said. • Lilly Montville, defender: "She's incredibly brave coming to the ball: she will put her head in and win the ball and she's the best communicator on the team," Kohls said. "Lilly is the toughest (player) on the team." • Bailee Dineen, midfielder: "Bailee is a very athletic and aggressive on defense: she's the one we put on the other team's best player — We gave up only 10 goals all year, and she's partially responsible for that." • Sophia Stark, defender: "She's very quick very aggressive, perhaps the hardest worker on the field." • Maria O'Connor, midfielder: "Maria is our attacking center midfielder — she can beat opponents on the dribble and go inside and score — she has scored very important goals for us this year." • Clara Palladino, forward: "Clara is very physical; she has a very hard shot; she scores goals so hard that the goalie can't react to her shots." • Morgan Stanco, outside defender: "Morgan can kick hard from a distance: she scored a key goal from 40 yards out in our Sectional semifinal; she's our first choice for corner kicks and free kicks." B-W PLAYERS PRAISED Bolton Warrensburg soccer coach Scott Smith expressed the following thoughts about his All-Star players: • Maille Kelley, midfielder: "For years, Maille has been the heart and soul of our team. She is an incredibly gifted athlete, a great teammate, and an impact player on the field. She has done a great job controlling play." • Olivia Bennett, forward: "Olivia was our leading scorer this year, unusual for a freshman. She finished with 17 goals and did a nice job finishing around the net. She is quick, aggressive, and has a great soccer IQ." • Caitlin O'Donnell, defender: "Caitlin has been a starting defender for us for four years, doing a great job anchoring our defense. One of Caitlin's greatest characteristics is her commitment to our team: In her four years on varsity, she did not miss a single game practice." • Halley LaBrecque, defender: "Halley has been a coach's dream. A force on the back line, she is tough, quick, and plays with great intensity. She will play any position I ask her to and will give 110 percent."
