CVAC volleyball: Lake Placid, Saranac Lake among Oct. 16 winners

PLATTSBURGH | Four teams earned victories Thursday, Oct. 16, in Champlain Valley Athletic Conference volleyball action, with Northern Adirondack, Beekmantown, Saranac Lake and Lake Placid all coming out on top. Lake Placid 3, AuSable Valley 1 19-25, 27-25, 25-19, 25-18 CLINTONVILLE | Lake Placid rallied after dropping the opening set to close out the match in four. Ellie Shipman led the way with 7 aces, 8 points, 22 assists and 16 digs. Brooke Meyer added 11 kills and 7 digs, while Fiona Sullivan and Ireland Cassidy combined for 12 kills and 14 digs. AuSable Valley was paced by Sophia Pelkey's 12 kills. Raegan Douglass posted 17 points and 3 aces, while Evalyn Parrow-Rascoe finished with 16 assists and 10 digs. Saranac Lake 3, Saranac 0 25-20, 25-12, 25-15 SARANAC | Saranac Lake swept Saranac behind steady setting and defense. Sophie Czadzeck tallied 20 assists, 9 points, 4 aces and 9 digs. Lexie Donaldson anchored the back line with 23 digs, while Sophia McBride and Addy Foster combined for 9 kills. For the Spartans, Isabella Curtis had 6 points, 5 kills and 4 aces. Molly Gangwer added 9 points, 6 digs and 4 assists. Beekmantown 3, Plattsburgh High 1 26-24, 25-23, 23-25, 25-13 PLATTSBURGH | Beekmantown picked up a hard-fought road win in four sets. Julia Conroy led the Eagles with 19 kills, 17 digs and 6 points, while Ava Dauphinais delivered 15 points, 15 digs, 4 kills and 21 assists. Sawyer Fleming added 7 points, 22 assists and 5 kills, and Sophia Kenyon tallied 14 kills and 10 digs. For Plattsburgh, Cali Ryerson posted 17 points, 6 aces and 6 kills, while Olivia Lathrop had 8 kills and 10 digs. Marlie Walker dished out 32 assists and had 8 digs. Northern Adirondack 3, Northeastern Clinton 0 25-16, 25-19, 25-20 CHAMPLAIN | The Bobcats rolled to a straight-sets win behind a strong all-around performance from Zoee Cook, who posted 11 points, 3 aces, 3 kills, 8 assists and 2 digs. Braelyn Bilow added 10 points, 8 aces and 7 kills, while Kendel Chapple tallied 10 kills and 6 digs. Allison LaPoint chipped in with 8 points, 5 aces, 3 kills, 3 blocks and 9 digs. Northeastern Clinton's individual statistics were unavailable at press time.
