Stafford Technical Center students win DECA awards

RUTLAND-Stafford Technical Center captured the gold, silver, and bronze at 2011 Vermont DECA Conference last week: Stafford Technical Center Hospitality and Entrepreneurship students participated in the annual Vermont DECA Career and Development Conference. Students participated in various events in which they can demonstrate their knowledge of marketing, merchandising, sales, human relations, and professional behavior. Events include displays, public speaking, and role plays. The following students earned 6 gold, 7 silver, and 6 bronze medals and numerous Honorable Mentions: Nick Sweet, a sophomore at Rutland High School was elected vice president of Vermont DECA. He will begin serving his term in July 2011.
