Annual Garlic Festival returns Oct. 10

WARRENSBURG | The Sixteenth Annual Garlic Festival, part of the Warrensburgh Riverfront Farmers' Market, will be held on Friday, Oct. 10 from 3-6 p.m. The festival at the Recreation Field Pavilion on Library Avenue will feature a wide array of all things garlic, including certified organic and certified naturally grown garlic varieties for both planting and eating by Hope Valley Farm, Simply Garlic, Northeast Corner Herb Farm and Juniper Hill Farm, as well as horticultural information and recipes provided by CCE of Warren County, garlicky recipe sampler plates and freshly brewed coffee. Also on hand will be specialty pizzas with fresh garlic by Tommy Guns Pizzeria; garlic braids, herb and garlic braids, garlicious grind seasonings, dip mixes by Northeast Corner Herb Farm; sourdough garlic bread by GraceFamilyFarm518, garlic & olive oil Chevre by Nettle Meadow Cheese Farm; garlic salsa, garlic onion jam, garlic hot sauce, garlic spice blends, pickled garlic stuffed olives & fused olive oil by Simply Garlic; sweet & tart garlic pickles, garlic cheddar biscuits by J. Gallup Farm; sundried tomato and garlic chicken sausage by Whitefield's Farm, garlic cookies by Cardinal Cookie Company and more. Beverage tastings include garlic martinis and there will also be chicken sectioning demonstrations by Don Whitefield of Whitefield's Farm. Adirondack artisans include Adirondack Rustic Design (rustic hickory furniture, birch fire starters and grape vine wreaths by Richard and Christine Vega), Bark Paper Scissors (handcrafted and upcycled clothing and bags by Joyce Walsack), Bear Pond Woodworking (wooden cutting boards and pens, paintings and more by Russ Palubniak and Suzanne Rinas), Budev Designs Collaborative (jewelry by Sarah Dever), Calico Corner (themed fabric crafts by Elizabeth Marshall), Carved Birds and Live Edge Furniture (Ken Raisner), Cauldron, Chamomile and Chaos (natural skin, body and home care, herbs and more by Tonia Scheerer); For the Love of Rocks (sterling silver gemstone jewelry by Linda O'Neil), Spruceberry Pine Co. (crochet ADK decorations, handmade furniture, ADK themed wood burnings by Megan Mccane and Terrance Abare); Paper Bead Jewelry, Wood Burned Lazy Susans and Charcuterie Boards (Wini Martin); Watercolor Prints, Personalized Drawings & Bookmarks (Patty LaFountain) and more. There will also be free children's seasonal craft workshops with garlic and Halloween-themed hands-on crafts with Shelby Burkhardt, Director of Richards Library as well as program information and giveaways by NY State of Health, Comfort Food Community and MVP Health Care and live music by George Parrott. The festival is sponsored by Warrensburgh Beautification Inc. with support from Town of Warrensburg for Occupancy Tax Funding.
