Section VII places five teams in statewide boys soccer rankings

PLATTSBURGH | The New York State Sportswriters Association released its second set of boys soccer rankings on Tuesday, Sept. 23, with five Section VII teams earning spots. Peru moved up to No. 7 in the Class A rankings after starting the season 5-0. Beekmantown also remained in the Class A top 20, ranked No. 14 with a 4-1 record. Northeastern Clinton joined the state rankings this week, checking in at No. 20 in Class B with a 4-2 mark. Two North Country programs were recognized in Class D. Chazy climbed to No. 3 with a 7-1 record, while Schroon Lake/Newcomb tied for No. 15 at 6-1. Records are through games played Sunday, Sept. 21. — Class A 1. Pittsford Mendon (V) 8-0 2.
