Steps to Empowerment 5K returns to Plattsburgh

PLATTSBURGH | Planned Parenthood of the North Country New York's Sexual Assault Services program (SAS) has announced the Steps to Empowerment 5K (formerly Dash for SAS), a community event dedicated to raising awareness and supporting victims and survivors of sexual assault. The run/walk will take place on Sunday, Sept. 28, at U.S. Oval Park in Plattsburgh. Registration opens at 8 a.m., and the 5K kicks off at 9 a.m. Participants of all ages and abilities are encouraged to join in this empowering event, turning every stride into strength. Pre-registration is just $25, with day-of registration at $30. A special Puppy Paws Package is available for $5 that includes a SAS bandana, frisbee, and treats! Youth ages 0–21 receive a discounted rate, ensuring this event is accessible to the whole community. "Our mission is to bring people together in solidarity with victims and survivors, while also celebrating resilience and strength," said Shelli LaVoie, Director of PPNCNY's Sexual Assault Services program. "This 5K is not just about running; it's about taking meaningful steps toward healing and empowerment."
