TACC accepting nominations for 'best of the year' awards

TICONDEROGA | The Ticonderoga Area Chamber of Commerce (TACC) will host their Annual Ticonderoga Area Community Appreciation Dinner and Awards Ceremony on Thursday, Oct. 23, at 6 p.m. The complimentary dinner and awards ceremony will be held at the Knights of Columbus in Downtown Ticonderoga, located at 103 Montcalm St. The dinner and awards ceremony are an opportunity to recognize all area businesses, organizations, and volunteers as well as the 2025 "Business of the Year," "Organization of the Year," "Chamber Volunteer of the Year," "Community Volunteer of the Year," and give out several TACC Appreciation Awards. Nominations for the 2025 Business of the Year, Organization of the Year, Chamber Volunteer of the Year, Community Volunteer of the Year, and TACC Appreciation Awards are now being accepted. Forms are available at the Chamber office (94 Montcalm St., Suite 1, Ticonderoga), online at www.ticonderogany.com, or can be submitted directly through the online nomination ballot. Nominations must be received by Oct. 3. "The Community Appreciation Dinner and Awards Ceremony is our opportunity to celebrate and thank the businesses, organizations, committees, and individuals who give so much throughout the year. Their dedication, drive, and true spirit of volunteerism make countless initiatives, events, and projects possible. A heartfelt thank you goes to our amazing volunteers for helping coordinate this special evening, to the Knights of Columbus and Knights Banquet Hall & Catering for being our hosts, to our generous sponsors, and to our Board of Directors and Ambassadors for their continued support. In 2024, awards were given to businesses, organizations, committees, and individuals, who not only support the Ticonderoga Area Chamber of Commerce, but give of themselves for the betterment of the Ticonderoga Area and the community. At last year's event, the recipient of the Business of the Year Award was DeFranco's Landscaping, Inc.; Organization of the Year was awarded to North Country Community College; Chamber Volunteer of the Year was awarded to Rikki Galusha & Shylah Granger; and the Community Volunteer of the Year award was given to Nathan Belanger. TACC Appreciation Awards were presented to The Lemonade Stand Kids, Jessica Andreassen Harris, Denise Huestis, Fox & Fern – American Mercantile, Huddy & Co./Small Town Boutique, Pam Lemza Putnam, Silver Bay YMCA, Snug Harbor Marina, Sun Community News, Joe & Alicia Vilardo, & Dan Whitford. Special Recognition Awards were given to Decker's Flats Greenhouse, Joe Bodette & Karen Hennessy, Marianne Rapple, Tim Stocker & George Mackey. This event is made possible by the sponsorship of area businesses and organizations.
