Apple Festival returns to Warrensburgh Riverfront Farmers' Market

WARRENSBURG | The 12th Annual Apple Festival returns to the Warrensburgh Riverfront Farmers' Market Friday, Sept. 12, promising a wide variety of all things apple. The festival will be held from 3-6 p.m. at the Recreation Field Pavilion on Library Avenue, featuring local vendors and local apples, including Saratoga Apple's varieties of organically grown fruit, sweet and hard cider and apple cider donuts. Juniper Hill Farm's fresh, locally grown organic produce will also be on hand, along with growing information and apple recipes from the CCE of Warren County Master Gardener Program. Attendees can take advantage of apple recipe sampling plates and freshly brewed coffee. Donations are welcome and appreciated. Adirondack artisans include ADK Creations (handmade stone jewelry, ceramics, sun catchers, wood works and garden and home décor by Heather Lanfear), Bark Paper Scissors (handcrafted and upcycled clothing and bags by Joyce Walsack), Budev Designs Collaborative (jewelry by Sarah Dever), Calico Corner (themed fabric crafts by Elizabeth Marshall); Carved Birds (Ken Raisner), Cauldron, Chamomile and Chaos (natural skin, body and home care, herbs and more by Tonia Scheerer); For the Love of Rocks (sterling silver gemstone jewelry by Linda O'Neil), Mountain Pottery (functional pottery by Shannon Anderson), Skyward Garden Art (rain chains, suncatchers, wind chimes and more by Anna Draisey-Curtis), Thumbprint Pottery (hand built pottery by Colleen Bessette), Watercolor Prints, Personalized Drawings & Bookmarks (Patty LaFountain) and more. Local farms, bakers and craft beverage producers include Adirondack Winery (Home Sweet Home Apple Pie Wine), Dawn's Delights (apple crumb pies, breads and more), J. Gallup Farm (apple pies, pastries and more), GraceFamilyFarm518 (pretty pies and sourdough baked goods), Love Bakes the World Go Round (baked goods with a taste of apple), Nana's Garlic Shack, Nettle Meadow Cheese Farm (Apple Cider Formage Frais), Simply Garlic, Springbrook Hollow Farm Distillery (Howl at the Apple Moonshine and Adirondack Apple Flavored Whiskey), The Pooch Pantry (healthy pet treats by Connie Smith), Trillium Farm (chicken and duck eggs), Whitefield's Farm (apple maple chipotle chicken sausage) and more. There will also be free children's activities, including apple-themed hands-on take-and-make crafts and face painting by Shelby Burkhardt, director of Richards Library. The festival will also feature pumpkin decorating donated by Bull Hill Farm, apple cider making demonstrations, program information and giveaways from NY State of Health, along with other informational booths and live music by George Parrott. The festival is sponsored by Warrensburgh Beautification Inc. with support from Town of Warrensburg for Occupancy Tax Funding.
