Indian Lake Theater's StevieMac concert a sold out success

INDIAN LAKE | The Indian Lake Theater is thrilled to celebrate a milestone: the sold-out StevieMac: A Fleetwood Mac & Stevie Nicks Experience concert. The event, held on Friday, Aug. 8, attracted 229 enthusiastic attendees, marking the third since the nonprofit theater's founding that an event has reached full capacity. The Indian Lake Theater was built in 1937, but functioned as a for-profit named The Lake Theater for much of its history. It closed in 2006 and reopened as the nonprofit Indian Lake Theater in 2008. From the first chord to the final encore, StevieMac captivated the crowd, fueling a wave of excitement that has extended far beyond the theater's doors. Local businesses reported a bustling night, with restaurants benefiting from the influx of visitors, and residents feeling the energy of a community gathering in full swing. "We had followed the StevieMac band on social media because of our connection to Andie Baldwin (Christine McVie). Andie was a classmate of my daughter's, so I had the privilege of watching her talent evolve from her early teen years to now," explained Axes & Irons owner Jenn Hoffman. "After speaking with Mary Alice earlier this year, we agreed that StevieMac would be a great addition to the summer theater lineup. My husband, Rich, and I immediately jumped on board to sponsor and host the after party." Amanda Gadway, broker and owner at Gadway Realty, added, "We only recently discovered StevieMac, but it took mere seconds to recognize their incredible talent. We're proud to sponsor this performance and to support the theater, which is such a vibrant part of our community." Mary Alice O'Connor, Executive Director of Indian Lake Theater, reflected on the significance, "Reaching a sold-out status is rare for us. We could feel the energy of the audience from the moment the doors opened, and StevieMac delivered an incredible performance. The energy in the room, the joy in the crowd, and the benefit to our local economy all show how vital the arts are to Indian Lake. This is momentum we can build on—and we are. With a new state-of-the-art sound system, a beautiful new stage curtain and track, and other improvements underway, big things are happening at the theater." The Indian Lake Theater is the recipient of three state grants for capital improvements. Having recently completed the new ramp and stairs (funded by the NYS Department of Conservation Adirondack Park Community Smart Growth Grant Program), replaced the stage curtain and track, and installed a new sound system (funded by the Empire State Development and the Cloudsplitter Foundation), the focus is on installing a new digital marquee with funding from NYS Council on the Arts (NYSCA). The Indian Lake Theater continues to awaken community spirit through high-caliber entertainment, built on the support of donors, sponsors, and audiences who believe in the importance of affordable arts and entertainment, particularly films and live performances. This summer's success is a sign of even more to come, as the theater strengthens its role as a cornerstone of culture, connection, and economic vitality in the Central Adirondacks. Tickets are currently on sale for the next concert. Pink Floyd tribute band Floydian Trip takes the stage on Saturday, Sept. 13, at 7:30 p.m., promising a spectacular and visually pleasing experience through projections, lasers, lights, and other effects.
