Donald Charles Loveland

HAGUE | Donald Charles Loveland, 88, of Hague, N.Y., and formerly of New Jersey, passed away peacefully on Monday, July 14, 2025, in Ticonderoga, N.Y., with his loving family by his side. Born on July 12, 1937, in Mount Holly, N.J., he is the son of the late Charles and Katherine (King) Loveland. Donald was raised in Mount Holly and was a 1955 graduate of Mt. Holly High School. Donald's journey began as a young man in New Jersey, where he met and married the love of his life, Marion (Meehan) Loveland. Their remarkable union spanned almost seven decades, filled with shared joys, triumphs, and the kind of love that serves as an inspiration to all who knew them. For 32 years, Donald was a steadfast employee for New Jersey Bell, where he worked as a lineman. He was a dedicated member of the Telephone Pioneers of America. In 1989, Donald and Marion decided to move to their new home in Hague, N.Y. It was here that Donald continued his professional journey with the Commonwealth Electrical Inspection Agency, where he was employed for 20 years, until his well-deserved retirement. Donald was a cherished husband and father, respected colleague, and beloved community and church member. He was an active member of the Hague Baptist Church, where he served as Treasurer for 15 years, Trustee and Board Member. Pastor Bevins would often refer to him as "Head of the Board." Donald was always willing to volunteer when anything needed to be done, and he was very helpful in the repairing of the bell tower. His hobbies included working in his gardens, both vegetable and flowers, and he was a talented woodworker. He also enjoyed bowling, going to the Adirondack Thunder Hockey games in Glens Falls, where he was a season ticket holder for many years, and he was a devoted fan of his Philadelphia Sports teams - the Eagles, the Flyers and the Phillies. He was predeceased by his parents, Charles and Katherine Loveland; his brother, David Loveland; two grandchildren, George and Justine; and one great-grandchild, William. Survivors include his beloved wife of 67 years, Marion Loveland; three children, Debra DiFlavis (George) of Phoenix, Ariz.; Robert Loveland of Findlay, Ohio; and Paul Loveland (Leslie) of Hague, N.Y.; eight grandchildren, Derek, Michael, Ashley, Kristine, Phillip, Brooke, Elizabeth and Kary; three great-grandchildren, Justine, Remy and Gabriel; two sisters-in-law, Mary Jane Meehan and Shirley Speeney; and several nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends may call Saturday, July 19, 2025, from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Hague Baptist Church, 9830 Graphite Mountain Rd., Hague, N.Y. A funeral service will follow at 12 p.m. at the church. The Rev. Oliver Bevins, Pastor, will officiate. Arrangements are under the direction of the Wilcox & Regan Funeral Home of Ticonderoga.
