Westport celebrates the Fourth all weekend

WESTPORT | Though July Fourth falls on a Friday this year, Westport-Wadhams will celebrate the Great American Holiday over the weekend, Saturday and Sunday, July 5 and 6, leaving no classic summer holiday components left behind. The celebration kicks off 11 o'clock Saturday morning with Westport's colorfully eclectic town parade and wraps up Sunday evening at 10 with an hour-long fireworks display at the Westport waterfront. The in-between is packed with all sorts of summer activities, some charged, some not, but all fun. Food fare includes Strawberry Shortcake & Michigans at the Westport Federated Church and a traditional Pig Roast & Raffle at the Westport Hose Company. Activities include I Spy Bingo and Scavenger Hunts. Live music is offered all weekend at local restaurants and pubs. SCHEDULE OF EVENTS Saturday, July 5 11 a.m. U.S.A.
