North Warren Chamber hires new director

CHESTERTOWN | The North Warren Chamber of Commerce has a new director, a Johnsburg resident who has gained considerable experience serving in civic positions in northern Warren County. Lily Gaechter started in her new position on June 18, and Chamber officials welcomed her aboard with enthusiasm by Chamber officials because she has demonstrated strong talent in advertising design and marketing. "Lily Gaechter brings a dynamic mix of experience and fresh energy to the role, including a strong background in social media and community engagement," Chamber board of directors vice president Debra Eves said. "Her leadership will be instrumental in driving collaborative marketing efforts and increasing regional visibility." Chamber board president Craig Leggett noted that Gaechter has held multiple economic, cultural, and community roles in the town of Johnsburg. Since 2022, she has been simultaneously serving on the Johnsburg Economic Development & Marketing Committee, the town of Johnsburg's Occupancy Tax Committee, the North Creek Business Alliance, and the Friends of Johnsburg Parks, of which she is a board member. She also serves on the committee tasked with the collaborative "branding" of the town of Chestertown, Johnsburg, and Horicon. In mid-February, the North Warren Chamber was awarded a $150,000 grant from Warren County government to develop and implement a brand for the three towns. The grant funding is to be invested in promoting tourism as well as attracting new residents for the three towns. The goal of the branding effort is to boost the region's commerce, vitality and sustainability. Gaechter has been employed for 11 years as a skiing coach, event crew member and social media manager for the New York Ski Education Foundation at Gore Mountain. Leggett said he was impressed with Gaechter's credentials, as well as her design and marketing abilities, particularly via social media. He said the online photos, videos, and event announcements she developed for community organizations were creative and compelling. "Her energy, vision, and digital skills are a great fit for the Chamber as we look to grow our presence and impact across the region," he said. "Lily is bringing renewed energy to the Chamber and what we can do to support businesses and commerce in our area." The Chamber's prior director, Julia Pucciarelli, resigned about a year ago, and Eves, Leggett and others had undertaken many of her duties over that period. Since Gaechter took on the Chamber director position, the North Warren Visitors Center's regular hours were reinstituted: 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesdays through Saturdays. To introduce Lily Gaechter to the community, the Chamber is hosting a community mixer from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday, July 15 at the Chamber's Visitors Center, 3 Dynamite Hill in Chestertown — and all are welcome to attend.
