Strawberry Festival returns June 13

WARRENSBURG | The Third Annual Strawberry Festival at the Warrensburgh Riverfront Farmers' Market is scheduled for Friday, June 13 from 3 - 6 p.m. The event will be held at the Recreation Field Pavilion on Library Avenue with plenty of parking and bathrooms. Stop by for locally grown and freshly picked berries, strawberry recipes, sampler plates and much more. Donations are welcome and appreciated. Horticultural information and seasonal vegetable recipes will be provided by the Warren County CCE Master Gardeners. Children's activities, including hands on crafts and take and make kits, in addition to library event information, will be offered by Shelby Burkhardt, Director of Richards Library. Locally grown pollinator friendly native plants grown from seed without harmful chemicals will be for sale. New farmers' market t-shirts will also be available. Local farms, bakers, craft beverage producers and artisans will be offering produce and value added products with a strawberry theme. Juniper Hill Farm will provide an abundance of locally grown produce, including ripe, freshly picked strawberries. Dawn's Delights, Love Bakes the World Go Round and The Cookie Nook will feature strawberry-infused pies, cakes, cookies and more. Beverage tastings with a strawberry twist by Adirondack Winery and Springbrook Hollow Farm Distillery. Don Whitefield will have local chicken, turkey, herb and spice-enhanced sausages and veggies from Whitefield's Farm, as well as cheeses from Nettle Meadow Farm and local honey. Delbert Chambers with offer multi-color chicken and duck eggs from Trillium Farm. Mike and Ingrid Richter will be selling organic maple syrup from Candy Mountain Maple. J. Gallup Farm will be selling vegetable plants and freshly baked pies and pastries. Kim Barber will have garlic spice blends, hot sauces, infused oils, salsas and more in addition to sourdough bread and strawberry focaccia from Simply Garlic. Connie Smith will have her healthy, homemade dog and cat treats from The Pooch Pantry. Linda O'Neil with create an amazing display of her own handcrafted silver and gemstone jewelry from For the Love of Rocks. Elizabeth Marshall will showcase her own themed fabric crafts from Calico Corner. Heather Lanfear will present a mix of handmade stone jewelry, ceramics, sun catchers, wood works and garden and home décor from ADK Creations. Joyce Walsack will have handcrafted and upcycled clothing and bags from Bark Paper Scissors. Kara's Shop of Pretty Things will feature mixed-media jewelry and clothing. J & J Wool and Wood will be spinning and selling traditional and art yarn, woven scarves and shawls, home décor, reclaimed wood items and more… Budev Designs Collaborative offers jewelry handcrafted by Sarah Dever. Tonia Scheerer is back as Cauldron, Chamomile and Chaos, offering bath and skin products, herbs, artisan bread and jams. Patty LaFountain will be returning with her personalized bookmarks, drawings and magnets, handmade ornaments and small wooden boxes. Mountain Pottery from North River will feature functional pottery by Shannon Anderson. Skyward Garden Art features rain chains, suncatchers, wind chimes and other garden art using repurposed china, designed by Anna Draisey-Curtis.
