Countdown is on for Plattsburgh's inaugural Michigan Fest

PLATTSBURGH | The countdown is officially on! With just 200 days remaining until the inaugural Michigan Fest, excitement is building for a celebration that brings together food, history, and community like never before. The Aug. 2 celebration at the Clinton County Fairgrounds will bring the legendary Michigan hot dog front and center, alongside a vibrant Makers Market, live music, and a special evening treat. Plattsburgh Town Supervisor Michael S. Cashman, couldn't be more excited about the upcoming festival. "The Town of Plattsburgh is the proud home of the Michigan – there's no place better to honor this iconic local delicacy! For generations, Michigans have been a part of our history and identity, and now we're inviting everyone to join us in celebrating this beloved tradition. It's going to be a day of great food, great music, and great community spirit!" The Michigan Fest will not only celebrate the iconic Michigan dog, but also serve as a fundraising event for the Battlefield Memorial Gateway Project, an initiative dedicated to preserving and honoring veterans the rich history of the North Country. Proceeds from the event will benefit this important community cause, ensuring future generations can continue to connect with the heritage that makes our region so special. "We are so excited to bring this festival to life while also supporting such an important project," said Meghan McGee-Pelkey, Co-Chair. "This event is a way to celebrate our culture, our traditions, and our future." Beyond the Michigan dogs, festival-goers can look forward to a bustling Makers Market, where local artisans, crafters, re-sellers, antique vendors, and more will showcase their unique goods.
