Common Ground Alliance to host ADK stakeholder forum Nov. 15

NORTH HUDSON | The Common Ground Alliance (CGA) of the Adirondacks has announced the 2024 Annual Forum, which will take place at Frontier Town Gateway in North Hudson. This year's in-person event, to be held on Nov. 15, promises to be an engaging and transformative gathering for all Adirondack stakeholders, as CGA reflects on its nearly two decades of promoting civility, idealism, and realism while welcoming new voices and building greater transparency. The 2024 Forum marks a pivotal moment in CGA's history, as stakeholders come together to chart the future direction of the unique regional collaboration. "We've reached a point where self-evaluation is critical for CGA," said Sawyer Bailey, executive director of AdkAction and forum planning team member. "This year's forum is about more than policy discussions – it's about setting the stage for the next chapter of the Common Ground Alliance. Whether this will be your first forum or you're a seasoned attendee, we are excited to welcome all participants to help us shape that future." In the spring, the CGA Core Team was approached by the Harvard Law School Negotiation and Mediation Clinical Program with interest in assembling an in-depth independent report of CGA's operations and effectiveness in the Adirondack Park. The report brought to light new questions within the CGA Core Team. After discussing the report, the Core Team felt it best to move forward, including all of CGA's stakeholders in the discussion, by dedicating this year's forum to charting the organization's future. "CGA has always been a platform where diverse voices come together for civil dialogue," said Cali Brooks, president & CEO of Adirondack Foundation and CGA Core Team Member. "But as the region evolves, we need to ensure that this alliance grows with it. This forum will be a meaningful opportunity for everyone who cares about the Adirondacks to contribute to our collective future." Attendees will be treated to a catered lunch by Taste of Lahore, participation in thought-provoking sessions focused on CGA's potential future, and the opportunity to contribute to the alliance's next steps. Afterward, CGA will host an informal networking event at Paradox Brewery, just a half-mile from the venue.
