Garlic Festival returns to Warrensburgh Riverfront Farmers' Market

WARRENSBURG | The Fifteenth Annual Garlic Festival at the Warrensburgh Riverfront Farmers' Market will be held Friday, Oct. 11. The always popular event will be held at the Recreation Field Pavilion on Library Avenue from 3-6 p.m. Many varieties of certified organic and certified naturally grown garlic will be sold for planting and consumption by Hope Valley Farm, Nana's Garlic Shack and Simply Garlic. Horticulture information and recipes will be available from CCE of Warren County while attendees are treated to garlicky recipe sampling featuring pizza with fresh garlic by Bab-a-Dew's Wood Fired Pizza, garlic humus by Back to Zero, savory garlicky baked goods by Baked By Marlene, sourdough garlic bread by GraceFamilyFarm518, garlic and olive oil chevre by Nettle Meadow Cheese Farm; garlic salsa, garlic onion jam, garlic hot sauce, garlic spice blends, pickled garlic stuffed olives and fused olive oil by Simply Garlic; garlic infused chicken and turkey sausage by Whitefield's Farm and more. Warren County farms and businesses joining the festival are ADK Produce (Jason O'Hara), Adirondack Serendipity (local honey by Scott & Kim Townsend), Adirondack Winery, As You Wish Signs & Gifts by Dina (hand painted & lettered artwork on repurposed materials), Bab-a-Dew's Wood Fired Pizza, Back to Zero, Baked By Marlene (cookies, cakes), Calico Corner (fabric crafts by Elizabeth Marshall), Candy Mountain Maple, Dawn's Delights (baked goods), Egg Mountain Farm (handmade soaps and lotions), For the Love of Rocks (sterling silver gemstone jewelry by Linda O'Neil), GraceFamilyFarm518 (sourdough pasta and Pretty Pies), Hope Valley Farm (garlic varieties), J & J Wood and Wool (handspun yarn, crocheted and woven fabric items and veggies by Jean Szachacz Pike), Mac's Pipes & Accessories (Donald MacNaughton),), Nana's Garlic Shack, Nettle Meadow Cheese Farm, North Country Microgreens (John Sleckman), Personalized & Themed Items (Patty LaFountain), Springbrook Hollow Farm Distillery, The Pooch Pantry (healthy pet treats by Connie Smith), Simply Garlic, Trillium Farm (chicken and duck eggs), Whitefield's Farm (chicken, turkey and veggies) and more. There will also be a free children's seasonal craft workshop with a garlic and Halloween theme by Richards Library Director Shelby Burkhardt along with program Information and giveaways by NYS Department of Public Service, New York State of Health and the Alzheimer's Association of Northeastern NY. The event also features live music by George Parrott, free fresh coffee and a chance to win $20 in Farmers' Market Bucks. The festival is sponsored by Warrensburgh Beautification Inc. with support from Town of Warrensburg for Occupancy Tax Funding.
