Westport-Wadhams holds first town-wide garage sale

WESTPORT | Summertime is almost synonymous with town-wide yard sales, and the Westport-Wadhams community has now joined the legions of other Adirondack towns that have them. On Saturday, Aug. 10, the Westport-Wadhams Community Alliance will launch its first, designed to satiate shoppers' hunger for treasures and bargains. Shopping starts at 8 a.m. and lasts until 3 p.m. Residents and business vendors alike are invited to participate by selling from booths or their own yards, which will ensure a wide variety of goods and wares to keep shoppers motivated. Maps make for clear "saling" by indicating participants' locations and noting items of particular interest. The maps will be available at key points throughout town and can also be found online at gowestportny.com. "We're thrilled to bring our community together for this fantastic event," said Clay Reaser, president of the Alliance. "It's a great opportunity for residents to declutter and for shoppers to find unique treasures at affordable prices."
